July 09, 1952 Committed Relationship 2 2012-08-06 15:56:18

When I was in high school, I was a multi-faceted, non-conforming, hippie-type. Now I am an "aging" multi-faceted, non-conforming hippie-type.

After 2 marriages, raising two wonderful children :
Aaron, 36, DC lawyer and Rachael, 32, college student and single parent of my two beautiful grandchildren, Sativa (12) and Solus (3),
and a career in the electronics industry,
I became semi-retired at age 50. That was when I went through my "mid-life crisis" you could say. I had 2 accidents, one lead to knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus and the other was a "Whale of a tale" and it's all true. I was riding in a boat with friends and we were pulling a dead whale off of the beach on the Sea of Cortez in Baja, Mexico. A whale makes a great anchor and when we gunned it to try to pull the whale off of the beach, the boat came to an abrupt halt, but I ended up launched in the air and coming down on the bottom of the boat. This got me deported to LA to seek medical attention and heal up.
Today, I have adjusted to this twist of fate; time has healed much of my injuries and I deal with the remainder. I learned reflexology massage and Reiki and studied quite a bit of herbology. I am also a seamstress. I still sing and play guitar and for a few years I sang with a small band in San Felipe, Baja. I enjoy traveling with my life partner of the past 11 years, Kenji. I have a home in San Felipe, Baja, where you will find us in the winter and spring. My main US base is in southern Cal, with favorite spots in New Mexico, northern Cal and Bend, where a lot of my family still live.

Physical, mental and spiritual health have become a big focus in life as I try to age gracefully and happilly. Life is a blessed gift to be enjoyed moment by moment.
